Fault finding: about ⅔ of the panels not producing (24 kWp)
Restaurant rooftop. Output is only about a third of what the array should give, so one or more strings are likely disconnected or tripped. Quote a fixed project-based cost plus an estimated parts budget (see below).
Scope of work (6)
- Check every string: DC isolators, DC fuses, breakers and MC4 connectors
- Measure Voc and operating current of each string / MPPT, before and after
- Find and repair the open or damaged string(s); replace burnt MC4 or fuses
- Thermal scan of panels and combiner box if you have a camera
- Check earthing and SPD; tighten all DC/AC terminals
- Photos before/after and readings on the Solar ESS report form
Your quotation must include both:
- Project-based cost – one fixed price for the full scope above (labour, diagnosis, testing, travel and report).
- Estimated budget for parts – an itemised estimate of materials that may be needed once the fault is found (e.g. MC4 connectors, fuses, cable, breaker, communication cable, Wi-Fi repeater), with unit prices. Parts are approved by us before purchase.
Report form: download it before you quote. Fill it in on site (findings, readings, what you fixed) and send it back with your before/after photos.
Remark: candidates must submit their profile, certificate and quotation. We will then contact you back to discuss the work. We apologize if your Facebook message has not been answered.
